Vintage Sylvette Amy Santon Baker Figurine | Provençal French Folk Art Doll

A wonderfully charming vintage French santon by Sylvette Amy of Aubagne, Provence, depicting a traditional baker or pastry chef dressed in fabric clothing and surrounded by his wares.

The figure wears a soft white baker’s cap, textured jacket and apron, and holds a beautifully detailed decorated cake. At his feet sits a rustic basket filled with miniature loaves of bread. His hand-painted face and textile clothing give him so much personality — exactly the kind of old-world French piece that looks wonderful styled in a kitchen, dining room, hutch or French country collection.
